San Diego is one of California's precious jewels, with its fabulous beaches, beautiful weather, and various cultural, commercial, and entertainment centers that give visitors to San Diego a truly unique and memorable experience.

The city is located in the southwest corner of California, between Los Angeles and Baja California, making it a crossroads for out-of-state visitors, should they wish to explore the other regions of the state. But with its average daily temperature of 70.5 degrees Fahrenheit, visitors that come to San Diego, more often than not, find it hard to go elsewhere.

This is because the weather makes San Diego ideal for many outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, fishing, wildlife observation, and of course, hitting one of its beaches. Whether it's to take a dip in the ocean, soak up some sun, engage in various sports such as volleyball and surfing, enjoy a romantic sunset, or even to find some peace and quiet, San Diego's beaches offer something for everyone.

Aside from the beaches and outdoors, however, San Diego also offers a lot of other attractions for visitors. San Diego is home to the world famous SeaWorld park, and its star, Shamu, who is as much a part of San Diego as any of its warm citizens. Along with SeaWorld, there's the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, making the city ideal for animal lovers from all over the country.

In fact, San Diego is such an animal friendly place, that there are numerous areas for visitors' pets, such as pet-friendly hotels, dog beaches and parks, pet boutiques and restaurants, and many more.

And for those who want to break away from the beaches and nature, San Diego's commercial and entertainment areas offer some of the finest shops, restaurants, and bars in the state. Downtown San Diego is a very sophisticated city center that is home to some of the city's best hotels.

Culture and entertainment await visitors who flock into San Diego's numerous districts, such as the Gaslamp Quarter, home to over 100 restaurants, 40 bars and night clubs, and various shops, all nestled in a 16.5 block historic district. Little Italy, San Diego's slice of the Mediterranean, lives up to its name with its numerous Italian restaurants, shops, and boutiques, offering visitors a taste of Europe with an American twist. There's also a number of art and design galleries that can inspire those with an artistic heart, and events that everyone can enjoy.

But if those aren't enough, San Diego also has over 90 museums that show various collections of fine arts, science, natural history, and even transportation. There's also over 150 theatres in the area, as the city's theatre scene is one of the most active, creative, and cutting edge. Its two Tony Award-winning theatres and its reputation as a premiere and sophisticated theatre town has earned San Diego the name “Broadway-West”, perfect for artsy visitors.

Visitors can stay in any of the city's hotels, or choose to live in the city. The San Diego real estate market offers many housing options for visitors who wish to be residents. Condominiums, apartments, and houses of varying styles and prices are available in the city's numerous residential areas, making it relatively easy for anyone to choose a place that fits their lifestyle and budget.

San Diego mortgage companies are present and very willing to give would-be residents the opportunity to live in this wonderful city, offering very competitive rates and terms.

Whether it's to visit for a vacation or a getaway, or to explore the possibility of residency, San Diego, one of California's crowning jewels, is truly a magnificent place to be.
