Intro to Luxury: Mercedes C

When I was about ten years old, I got very into cars. I don't even know why, but all of a sudden they were always on my mind. I would pay particular attention to what my parents' friends were driving, and would always try to ride in different automobiles to compare the differences and pick my favorites. I remember the first time that I was struck by the luxury of a Mercedes-Benz.

My aunt had a late-1980s 420 SEL, and she picked me up in it one day. I sat in the back seat and immediately noticed that I could stretch my legs all the way out and still not touch the back of the front seat. And the smell of the leather made me really happy. At that point, I knew I wanted to own a Mercedes car. My parents got me a book about classic Mercedes vehicles for my birthday one year, and I learned all about the history of the brand.

My first two cars were Honda Accords. They were both reliable and fun to drive. But by the time I got my third automobile, I had a good job, and a little more money to play with. I decided to look at Volvo, and seriously thought about purchasing one. But before I did, I thought that I owed it to myself to at least drive a Mercedes. So I did.

I went into the dealership, and looked at all the cars. After dreaming in the SL section for a while, I made my way over to the Mercedes C Class cars, and got really excited when I saw that the price was actually about the same as the Volvo I had been considering. As you can probably guess, I never made it back to the Volvo dealership.

It is now seven years later and I am still driving my black Mercedes C. It has needed very little work over the years, runs like a dream, and still looks great. It seems that a Mercedes-Benz never goes out of style. In fact, I will probably drive it for another seven years!
